Interior Painting That Holds Up to Real Life
A fresh coat of paint is the fastest way to change the way a room feels — but only if it is done right. In Knoxville, we see the same problems over and over in homes where the last painter cut corners: roller marks in flat ceilings, wobbly cut lines where walls meet trim, brush strokes visible in semi-gloss, and paint peeling off bathroom walls within a year. Our process eliminates all of that.
Every interior project starts with prep. We fill nail pops and hairline cracks, sand rough patches, caulk gaps between trim and drywall, and spot-prime stains and bare surfaces. This invisible work is what separates a paint job that looks good on day one from a paint job that still looks good in year five.
Our Interior Painting Process
- Walk-Through & Estimate: Jesse inspects every room, measures square footage, identifies problem areas (water stains, previous patches, failing caulk), and delivers a detailed line-item quote.
- Protection & Masking: We lay drop cloths over every floor surface, tape off fixtures, cover furniture, and mask anything that should not be painted. Your home stays clean throughout the project.
- Surface Preparation: Nail holes are filled, cracks are caulked, rough areas are sanded smooth, and stains are sealed with the correct primer. This step takes time — and it is the reason our finishes last.
- Priming: We prime all bare drywall, patched areas, and any surface where adhesion is a concern. Dark-to-light color changes get a tinted primer to ensure full coverage in fewer topcoats.
- Cutting & Rolling: Ceiling lines and trim edges are hand-cut with a steady brush — no tape wobble. Walls are rolled with premium Sherwin-Williams paint in even, overlapping passes for uniform coverage.
- Trim & Detail Work: Baseboards, crown molding, door frames, and window casings are carefully brushed in the appropriate sheen — typically satin or semi-gloss for durability and easy cleaning.
- Final Walkthrough: We walk every room with you, checking for touch-ups under multiple lighting conditions. We do not leave until you are satisfied.
Products We Use — and Why
We are a Sherwin-Williams professional account, which means we have access to their full contractor line at volume pricing. For most Knoxville interiors, we recommend:
- Walls: Sherwin-Williams Emerald Interior or Duration — excellent hide, washable, low-VOC, and available in every color.
- Trim & Doors: Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel — self-leveling, hard-drying, and resistant to yellowing over time.
- Ceilings: Sherwin-Williams ProMar 200 Ceiling Paint — ultra-flat for a clean, light-diffusing finish that hides imperfections.
- High-Moisture Areas: For bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens, we use mildew-resistant formulas with added moisture protection.
We never thin paint to stretch coverage, and we never substitute lower-grade products without discussing it first. The product you agree to in the estimate is the product that goes on your walls.

Choosing the Right Colors
Color selection is included with every project. Jesse will help you narrow down options based on your flooring, countertops, natural light, and personal style. We can apply large brush-out samples directly on your walls so you see the color in your own lighting before committing. Knoxville homes run the full spectrum — from bright whites in new-construction Hardin Valley builds to warm greiges in established Sequoyah Hills colonials — and we have experience with all of it.
